Simple Stretches to Alleviate Quarantined Tech Neck



Sore or achy neck from working on your smartphone or tablet too much? How about that tightness along your spine as a result of typing away on your laptop? 


As we are currently experiencing a unique time in our lives, we are starting to spend even more time on our digital devices and constantly in a hunched over position with our necks bent forward staring at our screens. This could lead to even more of a strain on our necks than we are already accustomed to! 


Although the pain may subside in days or weeks, if we do not take care of it now and correct our posture, the pain may begin to travel down to the shoulders, back and even arms eventually leading to negatively impacting our daily life activities. 


To get a better understanding of the weight experienced on our necks, the normal force on our neck is about 15 lbs, but if the head is tilted forward far enough it could put as much as 60 lbs of weight on our necks. No wonder we end up so sore after a days work! 


By now you’re probably wondering, “How do I alleviate my neck pain?” 


Great question! I’ve put together a very simple 10 minute video that provides you with a series of stretches you can do right this moment! All you need is a comfortable chair to sit on and you’re good to go!
