5 On-the-Go Simple Snacks

Mid afternoon hits, energy is low, you’re not sure if you’re going to make it to dinner without becoming HANGRY. So, you grab the bag of chips in the breakroom. Oh, but the small bag of M&Ms next to it looks so good. Okay, you grab that too because it’s small.

Now, you’re at your desk, chowing down on your chips and bag of candy only to realize that you’ve actually been trying to lose weight for the last month. “SHOOT! I messed up,” you say to yourself.” And so begins the debauchery of the rest of the evening filled with more unhealthy choices as you rationalize in your head that tomorrow, you’ll start again.

Having readily available healthy snacks is so important to keep us on the right track if we simply want a boost of energy or if we are working on losing weight. If you want to avoid the midafternoon energy crash, optimize your productivity during the day, and not overeat when dinner rolls around, grab some healthy snacks!

Here is a list of my 5 favorite snacks that I love to eat on the weekly:

  3. Popcorn- Great substitute for chips if you want that crunch. My favorite brand is Boom Chicka Pop. Each serving is only 80 calories. It’s also gluten free for those who have an intolerance. Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn Flavor gives the perfect combination for your taste buds!

  4. Frooze Ball Peanut Butter Filled Energy Balls- Plant based little energy balls are perfect if you are feeling like you just need a little something to munch on. They’re also great for hikes too!

  5. Perky Turkey Jerky - All natural, tender texture, 10g of protein per serving. For me, this is lower in sodium than regular beef jerky and also a great alternative if you’re trying to avoid red meat.
